History
The Mid-Cities Arts Collective (the MAC) began with a feeling that good things happen when people create together. For years, a circle of families found connection through the performing arts—sharing meals, celebrating each other’s kids, and discovering the kind of confidence that grows when you’re surrounded by people who cheer you on. When their theatre space closed in 2024, they gathered on July 4th with an unmistakable sense of possibility and the belief that their community still needed a place to play, learn, and belong. What emerged was a vision for something fresh and inviting—a creative home that opens its arms wide, sparks joy, and reminds people that their most authentic voice is often waiting just underneath a little courage. That conversation became the MAC: a place built on warmth, collaboration, and a steady belief in the best of people. A place where everyone can find their voice. In our first year, we partnered with new venues, filled rooms with laughter, and welcomed hundreds of locals eager for connection and expression. What started as a backyard idea has grown into a vibrant community hub powered by enthusiasm, generosity, and the simple joy of creating together. And the next part of the story? We hope it includes you. Come join us—and find your voice with the MAC.
